APPLICATION
NOTES FOR THE B7 PARAFEED PREAMP OUTPUTS
Each of the above units are designed to couple the plate circuit
of a single triode to a 500 ohm line. The secondary may be terminated
with or without the use of the center tap.
The 15K model was designed for use with medium mu triodes with internal
plate resistances in the 5,000 to 10,000 ohm range. Good candidates
include the 6J5, 6P5, 6C5, 6C4, WE 262, as well as one-half of a
6SN7.
The 5K model was designed for use with many of the high gm tubes
such as the 417/5842 and the 437/6C45pi tubes as just a few examples.
Tubes with internal plate resistances on the order of 2,000 ohms
or less will work well with this unit.
Each of the above transformers are designed for use in parallel
feed circuits whereby no DC plate current whatsoever is imposed
on the primary. Advantageously, this facilitates the optimum use
of the most sensitive high-perm core materials such as cobalt and
permalloy.
